1598 Series Enclosures

This 1598 series of enclosures from Hammond are designed to provide a robust and customisable housing solution for desk-top electronic instruments, specifically tailored for mounting printed circuit boards. With the design features, reliable construction, and versatile options, these enclosures are the ideal choice for your electronic projects.  

These enclosures feature two sets of vertical 1.5 mm PC board guides moulded into the front and rear case halves. These guides provide secure and convenient mounting options for your printed circuit boards, facilitating easy integration and enhancing the overall functionality of your electronic instruments. 

These Hammond enclosures come with PC card standoffs moulded into the top and bottom halves of the enclosure. These standoffs require screws which are not included. These standoffs ensure a secure and stable mounting platform for your components.  

Meeting IP54 standards, these enclosures ensure excellent protection against dust and splashing water. This rugged construction safeguards your valuable electronics, making these enclosures suitable for various indoor and outdoor applications. 

Hammond offers both standard and economy versions of these enclosures to cater to different needs and budgets. 

The standard version is moulded from flame retardant ABS plastic, ensuring optimal safety with a UL flammability rating of 94V-0. Stocked in matte textured black and grey, these enclosures provide a professional and sleek appearance. The enclosure halves are secured with machine screws, ensuring a secure and reliable assembly. The front and rear panels on this model are brushed aluminium and 1.6mm, with protective paper on one side.  

The economy version is moulded from general purpose ABS plastic (not flame retardant), offering a cost-effective solution for less demanding applications. Enclosure halves are secured with self-tapping screws threaded into plastic standoffs, providing a functional yet less frequent assembly and disassembly capability. This version is also available with either brushed aluminium or black plastic end panels. Choose the version that best suits your requirements and budget.
