1590 Series Enclosures

The 1590 series of Hammond enclosures offer a range of rugged and durable electronic instrument enclosures, designed to meet the demands of various applications. Constructed from diecast aluminium alloy, these enclosures are made to a high-quality. 

The unpainted version of these enclosures undergoes a vibra finishing process, resulting in a smooth surface with no sharp edges. This not only enhances the appearance but also provides a comfortable user experience. The textured black version is coated with a tough polyester powder paint, ensuring a lasting finish even after machining. To maintain a cohesive aesthetic, black screws are included, seamlessly blending with the enclosure’s design.  

This series comes with screws that are threaded into factory-tapped holes, simplifying the assembly process. The type and quantity of screws may vary depending on the specific enclosure model.  

These enclosures are built to withstand challenging environments, as Hammond enclosures are designed to meet IP54 standards, providing reliable protection against dust and splashing water. The lap joint construction also ensures a tight seal, helping to safeguard your electronics. This makes them suitable for a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications. 

Water-tight versions of the 1590 series of Hammond enclosures are also available, which are designed to meet IP65 standards, providing protection against water jets from a nozzle of 6.3mm from any direction at 30kPa. These enclosures include a gasket for enhanced sealing, ensuring maximum protection against water entering. Please note that the gasket is supplied loose inside the enclosure and should be installed as needed. 

Additionally, this series of enclosures contains improved EMI/RFI shielding, reducing the risk of electromagnetic interference, offering excellent protection for your delicate components. 

Hammond Enclosures feature a low side wall draft angle of 2 degrees or less, making it easy to mount PC boards. This design feature simplifies the installation and integration of your electronic components, saving you time and effort during assembly.
