The Type E37 Series from Elma is a high-performance mechanical dual incremental encoder. Based on the Type E33 series and including all the befits, the Type E37 offers dual encoders in a housing only 4.2mm deeper.

As with the Type E33, the Type E37 offers Elma’s exclusive Swiss Click Indexing System which ensures consistent rotational torque over the encoder entire lifetime. These encoders are offered in either 16 or 32 positions and can be smooth action or including detent with switching torques between 0.5Ncm up to 4.5Ncm.

The Type E37 series includes a shaft pushbutton actuation with a pushbutton force of 6N. The small housing dimensions of just 11.5 x 12.3 x 9.1mm allow the dual encoder to be incorporated into many designs where space is at a premium.

With a rotational life of up to 1 million revolutions and front panel sealing up to IP68 the Type E37 series is perfect for applications such as Cockpit Controls, Radio Equipment, Navigation Equipment, High-End Audio Equipment and other Industrial Applications where space limitations are a factor.

FAQs

An Incremental encoder is used to identify the position or motion in applications such as Two Way Radio Equipment, Industrial Controls and Audio and Entertainment Equipment.

The two main types of encoders are Absolute and Incremental encoders.

Incremental encoders output a pulse corresponding to the rotation angle only. Absolute encoders output a signal in relation to their position corresponding to their rotation angle.

The type of signal an Incremental encoder generates is an analogue signal.
