Job Description

The role of Internal Technical Sales Advisor will involve working with both new and existing customers, to provide the highest standards of customer service, communication and support, before, during and after each sale is completed.

It is important to recognise that although this is a sales role, the focus is on consultative, not transactional, sales.  The nature of our business is to partner with each customer, to understand their exact needs and, where we can offer suitable products, to work with them to develop the best commercial and technical solutions.

The role combines office-based and home working in the UK.  The successful candidate will therefore require a full UK driving licence and be resident permanently in the UK.

 

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Providing consistent communication to customers before, during and after each sale.
  • Creating quotes and product proposals for customers, leading to processing successful sales orders.
  • Contacting potential customers to explain the commercial and technical advantages of the company’s products and services, with the aim of securing a sale.
  • Look after and grow an existing account base.
  • Recognise the commercial and technical needs and desires of our customers, and then take appropriate action to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
  • Resolve customer questions and issues by listening and using your own initiative.
  • Using our CRM system to ensure that all customer records are up to date and maintained correctly.
  • Researching potential customer accounts and identifying key individuals to generate interest and drive sales.
  • Maintaining an in-depth understanding of our products and services to ensure that we always provide the best advice and recommendations to our customers.

 

About you

We are looking for someone who has experience and knowledge working in internal sales or similar customer-facing sales roles and who now wants to develop and progress further in their career.

You must have a technical background, plus experience working with technical, preferably electronic, products in a business development, engineering or associated environment.  You must also be able to demonstrate a strong desire to provide the highest standards of customer service, with the ability to build rapport with new and existing customers.

It is important that you have a confident and friendly telephone manner, are highly motivated and capable of using your initiative to resolve issues and challenges successfully.  To be successful, you will also need to have an inquisitive nature, wanting to learn and develop, and be able to show that you can multitask and prioritise activities, while managing your time properly.

You will need to have excellent written and verbal English language communication skills, plus experience with Office 365 and CRM systems.
