E18 - Mechanical Incremental Encoder

The E18 mechanical incremental encoder from Elma has been designed using a common market footprint similar to their other encoders but with higher performance characteristics. Having a body size of just 14.4 x 11.4 x 6.5mm and a mechanical life of up to 150,000 revolutions the E18 is a small and very robust encoder.

This small encoder offers strong tactile feedback through 3 detent torques options of 0.5, 1.5 and 2.5 Ncm with a choice of 16, 24 or 30 resolution detents. The E18 can be requested with the added functionality of a shaft pushbutton with a 3N or 6N actuating force. Shaft sealing of up to IP68 is also offered and the large variety of shaft dimensions and shapes alongside Elma’s range of plastic and metal knobs give designers plenty of aesthetic options.

The range is available in THT Vertical and SMT mounting to allow for reflow soldering and quicker installation times. These features make the E18 series perfect for applications such as White Goods Equipment, Home Automation, Two Way Radio Equipment, Power and Heat Distribution Control, Industrial Controls and Audio and Entertainment Equipment.
